Rome - 2 days

Your Italy Tour starts with the drive from the airport to your hotel in the heart of this ancient city. As you explore Rome you will realize why it is one of Europe's most popular travel destinations. You will find historic sites at every turn like the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum and the sublime Pantheon.

When you visit the Colosseum sit on one of the stone benches and imagine what it might have been like many centuries ago when Romans came to this awesome venue to watch gladiator and lion fights. Then explore the nearby Roman Forum, which was the heart of Roman politics and power for almost 1000 years. 

Should you want to visit the Vatican, St Peter’s Basilica and see the Sistine Chapel then we advise that you include a priority admission ticket to avoid the long queues. 

Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast - 2 days

Take a walk in Sorrento's romantic old town or soak up the charm and beauty of the Marina Grande, the old port. Discover a rich collection of paintings, porcelain and priceless glass from Venice in Italy's most beautiful provincial museum, the Correale di Terranova.

An excursion to the excavation site of Pompeii is a must. The grand city of Pompeii was covered with ash and lava when in 79 A.D. the nearby volcano Mount Vesuvius erupted and thousands of its inhabitants perished. A visit to Pompeii provides you with a unique insight into the lives of the Romans of that time.

Take a bus that winds its way along the moutainous cliffs and through the picture-perfect villages of the Amalfi Coast and enjoy the breathtaking ocean views. 

Florence - 2 days

Explore marvellous Florence, the capital of Tuscany and cradle of the Renaissance. Use the hop-on/hop-off bus to see Santa Maria del Fiore, the cathedral, the Piazza della Signoria and the Palazzo Vecchio, the residence of the Medici family that once ruled Florence. Then continue on the same bus for a short excursion to the Tuscan Hills on the outskirts of Florence.

The unique and much photographed ‘Ponte Vecchio’ crosses the river Arno, The bridge is lined with many little shops that sell jewellery and locally made handicrafts.

Visit the Galleria dell'Accademia to see the famous statue of David, which Michelangelo created in the 16th Century out of 6 tons of marble. A replica of Michelangelo’s David can be found at the Piazza della Signoria.

No visit to Florence in complete without a visit to at least one of their famous markets: the leather market next to the San Lorenzo Church and the Mercato Centrale. Browse for fine handcrafted leather goods or Tuscan delicacies among the lively stalls.

Genoa and Cinque Terre - 2 days

Genoa, the birthplace of Christopher Columbus is known as ‘Suberba’, due to its glorious past and impressive landmarks. Take the afternoon to explore this UNESCO World Heritage listed city with its maze of cobble-stoned squares and alleyways, its old port and palm-lined waterfront promenades. Visit the impressive 9th Century San Lorenzo Cathedral with its distinctive zebra striped façade.

Genoa will be your base from which to explore the Cinque Terre region.On a full day independent excursion by train explore the 5 villages, hiking paths and coastline of the Cinque Terre. Walk the most famous and romantic stretch of the Cinque Terre trail, the Via dell’ Amore (Lover’s lane), from Manarola to Riomaggiore or undertake more arduous walks to some of the other villages. A local train connects these villages for which you will need to purchase the Cinque Terre card (€12).

A spectacular and very enjoyable way to see all the five villages at their best and to appreciate how precariously they are perched on the side of the mountain is by taking the boat from one village to the next. 

Venice - 2 days

The last stop on your Italy tour is the most romantic of all Italian cities: Venice. With its 118 islands, 150 canals, countless bridges and alleyways it is totally mesmerizing. Watch the gondolas and water taxis pass by as you enjoy a cruise in a Vaporetto (water bus) on the Grand Canal. Pass below the famous Rialto Bridge and admire the ‘Fondacos’, the grand buildings alongside the Grand Canal.

Make your way to St Mark’s Square and visit the Basilica de San Marco. Admire the opulent design and gold floor mosaics of this famous church.

Take the Vaporetto to Murano Island where you can watch the famous glassblowers create magnificent Venetian glassware.

Departure day

The airport bus, which departs from a stop close to your hotel will take you to the Marco Polo airport in Venice..
