What is included

Transportation between destinations: In Europe’s ‘state of the art’ fast speed trains. First class seats with seat reservations where required and available on most sections. There are a few short travelling sectors that have no first class compartments. Second class reserved seat on Eurostar train travel between London and Paris. Reserved bus seat on the Villach to Venice section. See itineraries of the specific tours for details.

Transfer from airport to arrival hotel: Transport from the airport to your hotel in your arrival city is included but the mode of travel varies from city to city. See itineraries of the specific tours for details.

Transport from train station to hotel: Only available in Bad Hofgastein/Austrian Alps where the hotel will pick you up from the train station. At all other destinations this is not included and usually not necessary as most of the time the hotels are within walking distance to the train station.

Hotels:  See individual tour descriptions and associated hotels. Should accommodation in the preferred hotels not be available or advisable during your touring dates we will endeavour to book you into a similar quality hotel.

When booking a triple room please be aware that the 3rd bed could be a ‘roll-away bed’. When booking a single room be aware that at times the size of the room could be smaller than a standard double/twin room and might have a single size bed.

Meals: A continental or buffet style breakfast is included every day unless you are staying in a self-contained apartment or otherwise stated in your tour inclusions list. Dinners and lunches are included as detailed in the itineraries.

Sightseeing and excursions: The excursions and admission fees that are included are listed in the various tours. No refund will be provided if any of those are being cancelled due to operational reasons and reasons out of our control.

What is not included

Airfares to and from Europe, airport and departure taxes and other charges or expenses connected with your flight to Europe. Expenses for visas, passport and insurances of any kind, meals not included in the itinerary, porterage, gratuities to hotel staff or local tour guides.

Some hotel city taxes.

Transport to and from hotel to train station: Not included except for Bad Hofgastein/Austrian Alps where it is included.

Payments

Payment will be accepted in the form of cheque, credit card or direct bank transfer into the Tailor Made Travelling customer trust account at:

Credit Card payment with Visa or Mastercard incurs a 2.5% surcharge.

 

Deposit:  AUD $600 per person (or AUD $2100 per person if you are booking a tour and cruise) (Non-refundable)

Final payment: 60 days prior to commencement day of the tour. Or 90 days prior to commencement day if you are booking a tour and cruise.

Deposit is required within 7 days of booking. Your confirmation of your reservation will be send to you within the 7 days following the receipt of your deposit.

All travel documents will be sent to you 14 days prior to the commencement of your tour provided the full payment has been received and cleared.

Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation of a tour needs to be given in writing.

A change of tour date or tour itinerary within 60 days prior to the departure will be treated as a cancellation and normal cancellation fees will apply

The following cancellation fees for a land tour apply if cancellation is received:

Prior to 60 days of commencement of tour:   AUD$600 per person (the deposit)

59 – 31 days of commencement of tour: 50% of total tour price

30 – 16 days of commencement of tour: 75 % of total tour price

15 days or less of commencement of tour: 100% of total tour price

No refund will be given after commencement of tour.

Amendments to tour dates and times: The following charges will apply per person:

Changes to date or time of travel between destinations: AUD $20 per change for each sector changed.

Changes to date of hotel booking: AUD $10  per booking

 

Refunds for optional booked tours or tickets: If cancellation occurs 7 days prior to the commencement of the tour then 50% of the price of tours and excursions will be refunded but no refund can be given for admission tickets.

Cancellation of extra nights hotel accommodation: If the extra stay is cancelled 2 months prior to the hotel booking date the hotel costs will be refunded minus a $20 fee per booking. If it is cancelled less than 2 months prior to the booking date then no refund is given.

Tour prices: All tour prices are given in Australian Dollars. The tour price is based on costs, tariffs, rates, prices, taxes, levies and on the exchange rate between Australian Dollar and Euro and Swiss Franc. Should the exchange rate between Australian Dollar and Euro fall below 1 Australian Dollar = 66 Euro Cents or between the Australian Dollar and the Swiss Franc fall below 1 Australian Dollar = .73  Swiss Franc (and destinations in Switzerland are included in your itinerary) or between the Australian Dollar and the English Pound fall below 1 Australian Dollar = .58 English Pound (and you are undertaking a tour in the UK) or any of the other charges change prior to the full and final payment, a surcharge may be made on the price of your tour. If the total surcharge is in excess of 10% you will have the right to cancel the tour within 7 days of notification of the surcharge without penalty and your deposit will be returned to you.

River Cruise terms and conditions

Eligibility

Residents of European countries are not eligible for any of these tours.

Responsibilities

Tailor Made Travelling, referred to as the operators, undertake the following duties:
1. The Operators shall be responsible to the passenger for supplying the services and accommodations described on the Tailor Made Travelling website, except where such services cannot be supplied due to delays or other causes of whatever kind or nature beyond the control of the Operators. In such circumstances, the Operators will do their best to supply comparable services and accommodations and there shall be no refund in this connection.
2. The website represents the entire agreement between the passenger and the above mentioned Operators.
3. In the absence of their own negligence, neither the Operators nor co-operating organizations shall be responsible for any cancellations or for acts of any other service providers concerned, diversions or substitution of equipment of any act, variations, postponements, omission or default whatsoever by land carriers, hoteliers or hotels, transportation companies, or any other persons providing any of the services and accommodations to passengers including any results thereof, such as changes in services, accommodations or facilities necessitated by same. Nor shall they be liable for any loss or damage to baggage or property, or for injury, illness or death, or for any damages or claims whatsoever arising from loss, negligence or delay from the act, error, omission default or negligence of any person not its direct employee or under its exclusive control, including any act, error, omission, default, or negligence of any country, government or governmental authority, officer or employee.The Carriers, accommodation and other suppliers providing services are independent contractors and are not agents, employees, servants or joint ventures of the operators or their affiliates. All certificates and other travel documents for services issued by the operators are subject to the terms and conditions specified by the carriers and suppliers and to the laws of the countries in which the services are supplied. The Operators are not responsible for any criminal conduct by third parties.
4. Where the passenger occupies a motor coach seat fitted with a safety belt, neither the Operators nor their agents or co-operating organisations or service providers concerned will be liable for any injury, illness or death or for any loss or damages or claims whatsoever arising from any accident or incident, if the safety belt is not being worn at the time of such accident or incident.
5. Transportation companies are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board of the transportation or conveyances. We rely on international conventions which may apply to the services provided by us, our suppliers or agents with respect to any claim of any nature brought by you against us as a result of the provision of those services. International conventions that may apply include: Montreal Convention; the Berne Convention for rail travel; the Geneva Convention for carriage by road and the Paris Convention 1962 for hotels. We are to be regarded as having all benefit of these conventions on limiting our liability in relation to any claim for death, injury, loss, damage and delay to passengers and luggage. Enrolment in and payment for a tour, shall constitute agreement and acceptance by the passenger of the terms and conditions set forth on this website which cannot be varied except in writing by an officer of the Company.
6. All matters arising in relation to the services provided by Tailor Made Travelling (Aust) Pty Ltd., but not in respect of other things, are subject to the law of the State of Queensland.
7. In the case of computer or human billing error we reserve the right to re-invoice passengers with correct billing.
8. Every effort is made to ensure website accuracy, however Tailor Made Travelling cannot be held responsible for typographical errors, or errors arising from unforeseen circumstances.

Tailor Made Travelling or any of their agents, do not accept any responsibility or liability for your acts, omissions, defaults, conduct, state of health, condition or circumstances.

Travel insurance: We highly recommend that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you have paid the deposit. It is your responsibility to ensure that the travel insurance is valid for the length and the destinations of your holiday.

Force Majeure: If ‘Tailor Made Travelling’ is prevented from delivering any of the contracted and services due to floods, earthquakes, strikes, war or civil strife, acts of terrorism, hurricane, cyclone, industrial disturbances, landslides, avalanches, fire, lock-out, epidemic, failure or delays of scheduled transport, or other acts of God, or any law, order, decree, rule or regulation of any government authority, or for any reason whether of a similar or dissimilar nature beyond ‘Tailor Made Travelling’s’ reasonable control, ‘Tailor Made Travelling’ will be under no liability to you and there shall be no claim from either party against the other.

White Christmas Tours: The locations selected for the White Christmas Tours have a very good chance of being covered in snow during Christmas. However climatic conditions vary and there is no 100% certainty of a guaranteed white Christmas.

Consumer Protection

Personal Data Protection: In order to process your tour booking we will need to use some personal information of all persons included in the booking. This personal information may include each persons full name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, driving licence and passport number. If you have any special dietary or assistance with mobility requirements we will need to pass these on to other suppliers of your travel arrangements.

We also like to keep in touch with you after the completion of the tour to ask you about your very valued feedback and to inform you of any other tours or special offers that we have in the future. If you do not wish to receive any further contact after the completion of your tour just let us know.

Complaints procedure: If anything during your tour gives you reason to complain please contact us as soon as you can while still on the tour so that we can try and rectify any legitimate complaint if at all possible. If you like to lodge a complaint in respect of your tour after you have returned please make your complaint in writing to us.
